Indonesian gold, silver, and pearl jewelry products forayed into the Singapore market through an online exhibition at the Adinata Center of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Singapore on Thursday.
The exhibition -- titled Celebration of Indonesian Jewel -- is an introduction to the Indonesian Pavilion that will be opened at the Singapore International Jewelry Expo (SiJE) 2021.
"Indonesia has rich historical and cultural backgrounds that make it a great nation, especially in the crafts sector. Indonesian jewelry products are often made for certain reasons, comprising for ceremonial purposes," Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo noted in a statement on Friday.
Indonesia -- which becomes the partner country of the SiJE 2021 -- has produced high-quality gold, silver, pearls, and gemstones as jewelry products used to showcase social status and are worn during religious ceremonies by members of the royal families in Indonesia.
Furthermore, the ambassador invited all visitors to visit the Indonesian Pavilion at SiJE 2021.
He also encouraged them to purchase and enjoy the wealth and beauty of Indonesia through the people’s creative works.
A plethora of jewelry products will be promoted at the pavilion. The crafts are made by local small and medium enterprises assisted by Bank Indonesia and the Trade Ministry.
The small businesses come from various provinces across Indonesia, including East Java, Jakarta, South Sumatra, and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Those from NTB are pearls producers.
In addition, several unique jewelry items from Yogyakarta and Bali will be displayed at the Indonesia Pavilion.
The SiJE 2021 will be held offline on December 2-5, 2021, at the Marina Bay Sands Singapore Expo & Convention Centre and online on December 2-31, 2021.
