{"id":132,"date":"2014-02-16T08:03:20","date_gmt":"2014-02-16T08:03:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/indonesia-handicraft.com\/news\/?p=132"},"modified":"2014-02-16T08:03:20","modified_gmt":"2014-02-16T08:03:20","slug":"platform-for-local-produce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indonesia-product.com\/news\/platform-for-local-produce\/","title":{"rendered":"Platform for local produce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Platform for local produce<br \/>\n The Star Online<br \/>\nBy DEBBIE CHAN<br \/>\ndebbie@thestar.com.my\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>THE Pasar Tani Mega (Mega Fresh Market) project was initiated on Jan 15 as a joint effort between the Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority and City Hall. \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> The project is aimed at providing a platform for local farmers to market their products directly to consumers without having to deal with a middle person. \u00c2\u00a0<br \/>\n<!--adsense--><\/p>\n<p> There are currently about six of these fresh markets operating in the Klang Valley, including Segambut, Setiawangsa, Danau Kota, Velodrom Cheras, Damansara and the latest in Taman Bukit Angkasa. \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> The Taman Bukit Angkasa fresh market has about 180 farmers who have taken up the spots in the market. \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> The market has agriculture products, fresh food and drinks and locally produced goods like clothes and handicraft. \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> The tapioca chips, pineapple jam, rojak sauces and satay sauces not only cater to local tastes but also use local natural resources.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> The booths at the market have strict guidelines to adhere to. \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> The prices at the market are reviewed every day based on the availability and demand of the products.
