The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC), in conjunction with North Carolina State University (NCSU), will offer a workshop titled, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcImproving Dyeing and Finishing Operations Using Six Sigma\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, at the AATCC Technical Center in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.<\/p>\n
The program will be held July 17-20, 2014 and August 14-17, 2014 and consists of two four-day weeks for a total of eight class days. The instructor will be Cliff L Seastrunk, Lead Instructor for Six Sigma programs at NCSU.<\/p>\n
The workshop will target QC managers, technical managers, production managers, plant and manufacturing superintendents, department heads, lab personnel, fabric and garment development personnel, R&D managers, process engineers, process improvement specialists, dye and chemical suppliers, and shift supervisors.<\/p>\n
This program is modeled after the highly successful Green Belt program at NCSU, customized specifically for the Dyeing and Finishing manufacturing sector. The data and case studies will be from real world situations encountered while working with various Dyeing and Finishing operations over the years.<\/p>\n
Each participant must bring a laptop computer in order to load the JMP software and to practice the Six Sigma tools. It is strongly recommended that each person bring a company-selected project that will reinforce the application of the tools and techniques taught in the program. The project will also produce savings\/improvements that will off-set the cost of the training.<\/p>\n
Each participant will be required to take an assessment at the end of the program to demonstrate understanding of the Six Sigma DMAIC approach. If they pass the assessment they will be presented with a Certificate of Training from AATCC\/NCSU.<\/p>\n
Once they have successfully completed a project utilizing this approach they will make a presentation to their management team and representative(s) of AATCC\/NCSU in order to be a Certified Green Belt. This certification will be through NCSU\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Six Sigma program.<\/p>\n
A registration fee of $4,995 ($3,495 for individual and corporate AATCC members) will include luncheons, breaks, course materials plus the FREE 6-month trial version of JMP software. In order to maximize discussion\/interaction between the instructor and participants, enrollment will be limited to 20 people.<\/p>\n
Numerous learning activities will be interspersed with lectures to drive home key principles to insure successful implementation of this approach in their project and later within their organization. Refunds will be made if cancellations are received on or before June 30, 2014.<\/p>\n
AATCC is a worldwide association of professionals active in textile wet processing. The members of the Board of Directors represent a broad cross-section of textile, retail, and chemical industry experts and other senior business leaders, with interests in many different aspects of textile wet processing, coloration, and design.<\/p>\n
NCSU has 10 colleges and schools: Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Design, Education, Engineering, Natural Resources, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management, Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Textiles, and Veterinary Medicine.
