Runways Ready for London Fashion Week

It’s all so very next year: Fashionistas from all over the world will get a look at Britain’s trends for fall and winter as London Fashion Week begins Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Showcasing everything from Philip Treacy’s spectacular hats to the unstructured elegance of Ghost, London’s fashion festival is “internationally recognized for attracting and developing the best new design talent in the world,” said Hilary Riva, chief executive of the British Fashion Council.<\/p>\n
A total of 170 designers will have their creations for fall 2014 and winter 2014 on display, with nearly fifty runway shows over the festival’s five days. The Natural History Museum will play host to the event, which is sponsored by the British Fashion Council.<\/p>\n
London Fashion Week has grown from just 50 exhibitors in 1994, and sponsorship has quintupled over the past seven years, the council said. Canon is this year’s principal sponsor.<\/p>\n
Julien Macdonald, who honed his skills at Chanel and Givenchy before establishing his own successful line \u00e2\u20ac\u201d and earning a reputation as a must-have red carpet designer \u00e2\u20ac\u201d will reveal his collection on the first night of the week’s catwalk shows.<\/p>\n
Others on schedule include Ghost, Jasper Conran, Giles Duncan and Treacy \u00e2\u20ac\u201d who may be best known outside of fashion circles for his creation of headpieces for the wedding of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, to Prince Charles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
