Three buildings that house three garment factories in Dhaka have been identified as ‘most vulnerable’ that may collapse anytime, causing loss of hundreds of lives, reports UNB.
\nThe Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), the apex body in the apparel sector, marked the shaky buildings in Ashulia and Mohakhali in Dhaka recently.
\nIt also asked the owners of the factories to stop operation for the sake of the lives of the workers.<\/p>\n
The risky factories are Anjila Apparels and Bari Apparels in Baipail of Ashulia and JM Fabrics in Rasulbagh of Mohakhali in the city. All the factories are producing sweater and woven products.
\nBGMEA leaders at a press conference Sunday informed that the authority of Anjila Apparels has already stopped its operation while the rest two will do the same soon.
