Incentive package for garment sector soon: Textile Asia-2014 inaugurated

KARACHI (March 19 2014): The government has identified textile as a key priority area and is making all possible efforts to provide the basic facilities and infrastructure to the manufacturers.<\/p>\n
This was stated by Federal Minister for Textile Industry Mushtaq Ali Cheema while talking to the newsmen after inauguration of the third international textile exhibition ‘Textile Asia-2014’, organised by ‘E-commerce Gateway Pakistan’ at Karachi Expo Centre here on Saturday<\/p>\n
The minister said that government is looking forward to over $10 billion exports of value-added textile products and garments and, to achieve this target, the government anticipates import of textile machinery of over $4 billion.<\/p>\n
He said that the government would announce an incentive package for boosting exports of garment sector soon. The committee formed by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has submitted its recommendations for facilitating the garment sector and make it competitive in the international market.<\/p>\n
He said that the incentive package would help the garment sector a lot to become competitive and increase its share in country’s exports. He suggested to the garment sector to enhance the skills of its workers for producing world class quality products to fetch better price in the international market.<\/p>\n
He said that China is the leader in garments manufacturing in the world and it can support Pakistan in further improving the quality of garments as well as setting up joint ventures in garment manufacturing.<\/p>\n
The minister appreciated the organisers of ‘Textile Asia’ and said that this exhibition would greatly help Pakistan’s textile industry in the selection of world’s latest machinery at their doorsteps to improve their quality.<\/p>\n
The International Textile Asia 2014 Exhibition, one of the most promising and enduring exhibitions, organised by E-commerce Gateway Pakistan, was inaugurated at Karachi Expo Centre here on Saturday by Federal Minister for Textile Industry Mushtaq Ali Cheema.<\/p>\n
Federal Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar, Federal Minister Safwanullah, Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Raheela Tiwana, Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister for Local Government Waseem Akhtar, Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister Fatima Surraya Bajia and many other personalities visited the exhibition.<\/p>\n
This is an official event of the Federal Ministry of Textile Industry. The exhibition aims to focus on the immense potential of textile and garment machinery, accessories, raw material supplies, chemicals and allied services under one roof.<\/p>\n
As many as 127 leading foreign and local exhibitors are exhibiting their products in the show while more than 500 foreign delegates are expected to visit the exhibition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
