Linda Walton feels connected to her pieces, even after they’re sold

\nAttending flea markets and art shows is an avocation of mine. It is always interesting to see which artist or vendor will have a display that draws me in.<\/p>\n
Wander by Linda Walton’s booth at one of the shows where she displays her wares in Matthews, Cary, Boone, etc., and you will be irresistibly attracted to the m\u00c3\u00a9lange of color, texture and form in the jewelry she creates.<\/p>\n
Linda graduated from a technical college in Los Angeles with a major in fashion design, but she has put her artistic talents on the back burner for years and has worked in accounting.<\/p>\n
Her journey has taken her from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., to Charlotte, where she now lives and works for a construction company.<\/p>\n
But in her bedroom she has a table with the materials to create the jewelry that is her outlet. The creative process is the love of her life, she says.<\/p>\n
She says that often she will get an idea in the middle of the night and get up to execute the design while it is fresh in her mind.<\/p>\n
Green pearls are juxtaposed with agate, coral, turquoise or glass; onyx is set against black and white zebra jasper in one-of-a-kind pieces to adorn the ear or the neck. Her jewelry ranges from a simple strand of interesting shaped stones to bold pieces with intricately styled pendants.<\/p>\n
Linda says her greatest satisfaction comes when she is walking down the street and “I see a woman wearing one of my pieces.”<\/p>\n
Because of the time and thought that goes into each one, she says they are like children to her, and even after they are in the hands of the customer, she continues to feel a connection to them. Linda’s jewelry is shown at various small boutiques in the state as well as in the shows she attends as far away as Palm Springs, Calif.<\/p>\n
