Onde-onde is one of the famous traditional food in Indonesia and usually has encountered in the traditional market. One of area that famous with culinary of onde-onde is in Mojokerto, East Java.According to some historical sources exist, onde-onde was originally derived from the Chinese State, then brought to Indonesia during the Majapahit Kingdom by the admiral from China&#8217;s State when visiting to the Majapahit Kingdom that located in Mojokerto, East Java. Until finally the food is often served as a cake menu in the palace and began to develop in Majapahit society at the time. At first,onde-onde that brought from the Chinese State is different from the onde &#8211; onde in Indonesia today. Onde-onde is originally contained only red sugar paste with sweet flavor. However, in Indonesiaonde-onde is modified by the addition of green beans that have a little taste of savory and match with the tongue of Indonesia people.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery flour and sesame seed sprinkles. In the first making process, green beans are steamed and mashed. For next step, dough of green beans is cooked and mixed with sugar mixture until the dough is smooth and can be in the form of a round, then wrapped with a skin that is made of a mixture of glutinous rice flour and covered with sesame seed. After that, onde-onde is fried in plenty of oil over medium heat until cooked and lightly browned. Onde -onde in Mojokerto has a distinctive taste and a bit different from other kind of onde-onde. One of the privileges onde-onde from Mojokerto are elastic skin that causing a sensation while we eat. Besides on that, blend of sweetness and savory taste of sesame seed are providing its own pleasure in the traditional food of this one.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-2' class='gallery galleryid-6539 Besides on be culinary and eaten there, we can also buy onde-onde as souvenirs typically of Mojokerto. Onde-onde is usually sold in warm or discharged fried, so it is maintained its quality. Because if onde-onde is served in tasteless condition, it will become soft and tend tough. Besides to the content of the green beans favor, the seller also provide other flavors such as cheese flavor, the taste of sugar and others. Price of onde-onde is a relative cheap, so there are not too draining our wallets. Well for, those of you who visit and travel to Mojokerto, certainly feels incomplete if not enjoy and take home a traditional food of this one.
