Something Beautifully Blue -- Handmade Anklets

Your big day is coming!  You have everything in place and every detail thought through.  Venue, check. Officiate, check. Invitations, check.  Gorgeous dress, check check! It may sneak up on you, but have you thought of the "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, a silver sixpence in her shoe" tradition?

Where did this tradition come from?  It dates back to Queen Victoria in Great Britain around 1840.  Each part of the saying is a reference to some part of family, future, and fortune.  You can go to our website for a detailed description of each part.

Now to figure out what to use for each. For something old, you can find so many options if you go vintage. Hair combs can be found that incorporate pieces from the 1920's, and if you'd rather kill two birds with one stone, you can get a vintage sixpence from 1953.

Borrowing a clutch from your mother or grandmother will add more vintage style to your wedding, and might make more sense than the traditional veil.  (Do you know anyone who you can borrow a veil from?  Me neither!)

Now you've still got to get something new and blue.  That's where a handmade wedding anklet comes in to take care of both at once.  Beautifully elegant, our special wedding anklets use sapphire crystals and freshwater pearls to bring extra sparkle to your day.  What a complement to that vintage hair comb!
