AEPC to set up training institute in Dharmapuri

Dharmapuri: In an indication of Dharmapuri becoming a garment hub, the Apparel Export and Promotion Council (AEPC) has decided to establish an Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) to empower unemployed youth in this backward district.

The Centre has already given the clearance and lands are being identified in the town for establishment of the institute.

Researchers at Shanghai’s Donghua University have created a microchip that can be put into clothes to prevent brandname garments from being counterfeited, university officials revealed yesterday.

The invention was unveiled at the opening of the 2014 International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Knowledge Engineering yesterday.
