Bulgarian archaeologists have unearthed a gold-and-platinum dagger and some 545 miniature golden pieces of Thracian jewelry dating back to the third millennium BC, the director of the National Historical Museum said Sunday.

Josephs Jewelers’ West Glen store in West Des Moines is No. 2 on In Store magazine’s list of the 10 Coolest Jewelry Stores in America.

The jewelry industry publication devotes four pages to the Josephs store, which opened last year. The store was designed by Des Moines architect Daryl Metzger in the prairie-style architecture made popular in the early 20th century by Frank Lloyd Wright. The newest (and some say safer) way to display dental bling: tooth jewelry.

Unlike grills — mouthpieces that blanket the teeth like gaudily bejeweled braces — tooth jewelry is seen as a less ostentatious, less expensive and less intrusive way to sparkle when you smile.

JAKARTA, July 31 (VNA-TNA) – A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck near Indonesia ‘s Nias island off northern Sumatra on July 30, according to the
Meteorology and Geophysics Agency.

However, there were no immediate reports of casualties, damage or a possible tsunami.
