Gold jewelry sales in the U.S. market were about $17.7 billion in 2005, according to the World Gold Council, an increase of 4.4 percent over the prior year. This is slightly greater than the 3.8 percent increase for all U.S. jewelry sales, and it indicates that gold jewelry gained market share.

Jenniefer Kirk, of Cranston, was scheduled to appear last night on a live television broadcast on QVC, the shopping network, from her estate in Edgewood and showcase her line of jewelry.
QVC set up a remote studio for the three-hour broadcast at Kirk’s private Seaview residence, a waterfront Victorian home built in 1890 and located on Narragansett Bay.

Jewelry exports up 52% through May – Brazil

Brazil’s jewelry shipments abroad in the first five months of this year reached a value of US$435mn, up 52% from US$286mn in the year-ago period, a press official with the country’s gems and jewelry trade association IBGM told BNamericas via email.

Exports include uncut and cut gems.

LJ Int’l ups view on high jewelry sales

NEW YORK, July 12 (Reuters) – LJ International Inc. on Wednesday raised its quarterly profit and revenue forecast, citing better-than-expected sales at its 32 ENZO jewelry stores in China, Hong Kong and Macau.
The company said it now expects second-quarter net income to be $620,000, or 4 cents per share, on revenue of about $26 million.

The jewelry seller, which derives 77 percent of its revenue from supplying retailers such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc. , Zale Corp. , and Federated Department Stores’ Macy’s stores , had earlier forecast net income of $300,000, or 2 cents per share, on revenue it expected to be $23 million to $24 million.
