Turkey gets knitting on garment alliance deal

Turkey, the world’s fourth largest exporter of ready-made garments, is setting its eyes on Vietnam as a manufacturing base because of its low-cost, skilled labour.
Turkish-Vietnamese Business Council chairman Muzaffer Arslan said Turkish companies have opened hundreds of factories in Asia, especially in China over the last few years due to high labour costs at home.
“I am encouraging Turkish garment and textile companies to invest in Vietnam as it has a lot of advantages in terms of labour and favourable policies for foreign investors,†Arslan said. Read more about Turkey gets knitting on garment alliance deal …
