Gokak Textiles Limited (GTL), a leading enterprise engaged in exporting textile goods has plans to venture for launching its own readymade garments under its brand, ‘Fac it’. The company has plans of starting with innerwear for men and children and will introduce its collection by September this year.

An investment of Rs160 crore has been disbursed for use in its factories at Gokak, and Marihal in Belgaum district of Karnataka. The sum was mainly assigned in parts over a period of three years to install additional capacity for meeting the requirements of its new product line. The Apparel Exports Promotion Council has appealed to the government to halt appreciation of the Indian rupee against the US dollar as the appreciation has started affecting exports in the form of lower unit value realization, said Vijay Agarwal, Chairman of AEPC in a statement

China’s garment export surges 48.3% in Mar

Apr. 24, 2014 (China Knowledge) – The National Development and Reform Commission (NRDC) yesterday said that China’s garment export surged 48.3% to US$ 11.8 billion in March, sources reported.

Tirupur (Coimbatore), Apr 23: Tirupur-based garments exporter Tubeknit Fashions plans to spend Rs 100 crore to ramp up its garment manufacturing capacity from 30,000 pieces per day to 78,000 per day.

The company would set up 20,400 spindle spinning unit near Tirupur at a cost of Rs 41 crores and install additional machineries for dyeing, printing, cutting and embroidery, Tubeknit Managing Director P Parthasarathi said.

Islamabad, April 24 (IANS) Pakistan’s hopes of exporting over $3,000 million worth of garments in the current fiscal ending June 30 is in jeopardy due to the tough competition in the international market and increased costs in the country, exporters here say

COIMBATORE, APRIL 23: Garment exports from India have increased by 27%, registering $7 billion in 2005-06, as against $5.5 billion in 2004-05.
