A team of 40 famous Japanese garment brands took part in CHIC2014.

It indicates not only that Japanese brands are eager to enter into Chinese markets, but also that they will affect Chinese garment retail markets.

Saipan garment exports, as well as user fee collections from the apparel industry have decreased to levels of a decade ago, according to the Governor’s Office.

Richard Pierce, the governor’s special assistant for trade relations, reported that sales for March 2014 totaled only $37.3 million, with user fee collections netting only $1.382 million in revenue.

The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC), in conjunction with North Carolina State University (NCSU), will offer a workshop titled, ‘Improving Dyeing and Finishing Operations Using Six Sigma’, at the AATCC Technical Center in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

The program will be held July 17-20, 2014 and August 14-17, 2014 and consists of two four-day weeks for a total of eight class days. HCM CITY — Thousands of domestic and foreign textile and garment companies aim to ink deals and test technologies at the International Textile and Garment Industry Expo in HCM City that opened yesterday.

The four-day exhibition at HCM City’s International Exhibition and Convention Centre until Saturday has 550 booths in a space of more than 12,000sq.m, representing 395 companies from 27 countries and territories, a 50 per cent increase against last year.

AEPC to set up training institute in Dharmapuri

AEPC to set up training institute in Dharmapuri

Dharmapuri: In an indication of Dharmapuri becoming a garment hub, the Apparel Export and Promotion Council (AEPC) has decided to establish an Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) to empower unemployed youth in this backward district.

The Centre has already given the clearance and lands are being identified in the town for establishment of the institute.
