Garment fire

FINALLY the BGMEA seems to have become active to check it. Over 300 workers have so far been killed in garment factory fires since 1990 and such incidents continue to occur to kill workers even today.
From the activities carried out by investigating authorities following a fire incident, it appears that they are more inclined to exclude owners from any blame and subsequently from the charge sheet. We can assume that some dubious deals take place under the table work. In all cases it is seen that committee reports gather dusts, no significant action is taken. It is alleged that an investigation report sometimes is altered in a way so that it rather helps the factory owner claim insurance money.
Factory owners, despite recurring incidents of deaths from fire and stampede, never paid any heed to the call for maintaining better working and safety standards. In most of the factory buildings there are no fire exits and the main gates are kept under lock and key by security personnel who run away at any sign of trouble. And certainly the conditions inside are highly unhygienic. Read more about Garment fire …

Order Produsen Lokal Susut 25 Persen
Sudarmaji, ketua Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API) Jatim, menyebutkan,.

Gap’s new-weave denim
Denim jeans, the most universally recognized and worn garment in the world, are popular on every continent because of their easy comfort. But traditional manufacturing methods tend to leave their texture rough and stiff.
Searching for a softer feel and a more natural drape, Gap created a limited-edition denim line for men and women and launched it for spring. Weaving the twill line diagonally from right to left instead of left to right makes the resulting denim trouser noticeably smoother. Also, use of ring-spun yarns contribute to a softer, stronger garment. Read more about Stylebook: 3/5/06 …

With the motivation of players that trekked the same path before him, Xavier Perkins fell to his knees in a state of perpetual disbelief.Â
The Saint Andrew’s jersey that absorbed Perkins’ sweat for the duration of 32 minutes was the same garment that concealed the spontaneity of his emotions. Throughout the postseason Perkins enforced team rules by using a precise system of checks and balances. He habitually deferred to his teammates, electing to sit back and watch the pace of the game unfold. Only when the situation called for intervention, did he step up and demand the ball. Naturally, Perkins’ teammates deferred. Read more about Scots incredible ride ends …

When Renie Dougher was growing up in West Scranton in the 1970s, the garment industry looked pretty secure.
Her mother sewed for Alperin Inc. in Old Forge and her father worked as an engineer for sister company Triple A Trouser in Scranton.
Overtime was plentiful for her parents. Ms. Dougher often made dinner for her sisters when mom and dad worked late.
“Get a job there and get into the union,†her father advised her. She did.
Looking back on her 20 years in quality control at Alperin, Ms. Dougher admitted questioning her choice and her parents’ advice at times.
Her parents couldn’t have foreseen the globalization of garment manufacturing or the flood of cheap imports that obliterated hundreds of mills and dress shops in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Read more about Stitch in time …
