Gold extends gains on record oil, jewelers active

Gold extended gains on Tuesday, adding to a rise of nearly 2% in New York, helped by bargain hunting and record-high crude oil, which enhanced the metal’s appeal as a hedge against inflation.

Platinum hits 2-week high

SINGAPORE: Platinum jumped to its best level in more than two weeks on Friday on speculative buying ahead of the launch of new platinum exchange-traded notes, while gold held near a one-week high on firm euro and record high oil.
