House of Taylor Jewelry, Inc. Reports Third Quarter and Nine Month 2007 Financial Results

House of Taylor Jewelry, Inc. Reports Third Quarter and Nine Month 2007 Financial Results
CNNMoney.com

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — House of Taylor Jewelry, Inc. today reported financial results for its third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2007.

Third Quarter Results

Net sales for the third quarter of 2007 were $4.9 million compared to $12.0 million for the third quarter of 2006. The decline in sales resulted from a $6.4 million decrease in sales from loose diamonds as the Company focused on sales of its branded jewelry. In 2006, loose diamonds were sold to increase market penetration and brand awareness. Additionally, available inventory was temporarily affected in the third quarter because the Company did not close its $30 million credit facility until after the end of the third quarter. This contributed to the decline in sales of the Company’s Elizabeth(R) and Kathy Ireland(R) branded products, which accounted for the balance of the decline in sales as compared to the third quarter of 2006. The $30 million credit facility closed on October 12, 2007 Read more about House of Taylor Jewelry, Inc. Reports Third Quarter and Nine Month 2007 Financial Results

At her in-home studio in Catonsville, jewelry artist Barbara Giles creates deceptively simple pieces of stone-and-metal, which she sells online (barbaragiles jewelry.com) and from elegant small display cases in local boutiques, such as Art and Artisan on Main Street in Ellicott City.

They are beautiful pieces meant to be worn — smoothly polished cut opal; softly colored sea glass connected with sterling silver; magnificent jade petals in pinks and oranges; amazing lasso necklaces of crocheted sterling silver perfect for twisting, tucking and tying. Lead Testing Results You Need to Know

Lead Testing Results You Need to Know
WISH, IN

INDIANAPOLIS – We all know the dangers of lead to young children. That’s why the government sets standards for lead content in everything from toys to jewlery.

But as we’ve learned from months of recalls those standards aren’t always met and lead laden products have been found on store shelves. So we went shopping, this time putting jewelry to the test. And what we found caught us by surprise.

An earring from a jewlery store tested at 52 percent lead, more than 860 times the amount the government deems safe. So, if a toddler swallowed this earring?

“It could kill the toddler. That’s an incredible amount of lead for a child to ingest,” said Karla Johnson the Program Manager of the Marion County Health Department’s Lead Division. Read more about Lead Testing Results You Need to Know
