Police arrested over the weekend 12 men and one woman for allegedly committing various offenses on Saipan.

All defendants were taken before Superior Court associate judges Juan T. Lizama and David A. Wiseman for a bail hearing yesterday.

The defendants are Roland Kaipat, Vicente Kaipat, Jeffrey C. Magofna, Shu Jin, Bernard Sebangiol, Julian Muna Sablan, Hillario Teigita Angui, David D. Kapileo, Anthony Cariaga Norita, Joshua Lee Santos, Wainy Williander Moses, and Jun Kitaoka.

The two Kaipats and Magofna were arrested after the court revoked a previous order that allowed them temporary liberty when they were arrested for allegedly stealing copper wires at the La Fiesta building in As Matuis on Nov. 20, 2014.

After the Kaipats and Magofna were arrested, they asked the police to make them confidential informants to solve other crimes.

Police, however, claimed that the three refused to cooperate with them, prompting the government to request the court to revoke the previous court order.

Jin, a female, was arrested for allegedly stealing $926 from one of the workers at Kyung Seung Garment Factory in Sadog Tasi.

Jin is presently out on pre-trial bail conditions for allegedly stealing two 20-foot containers loaded with garments from Kyung Seung Garment.

Sebangiol was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault, and disturbing the peace, for allegedly assaulting a male neighbor with a piece of lumber and a spear gun at a residence in Chalan Kanoa Saturday night.

The victim was not hit, police said.

Sablan and Angui were arrested for burglary and theft in connection with the break-in at Victory Chapel in Garapan on Oct. 12, 2014.

Kapileo was arrested for assault and battery, and disturbing the peace for allegedly assaulting a man and two Russian women in western Garapan on Feb. 22.

Norita was arrested for criminal mischief and minor consuming alcohol. Using rocks, he and two other persons allegedly damaged a pickup truck that was parked at the Joeten Dandan on Feb. 10.

Santos and Moses were arrested for burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, and accessory. The two allegedly burglarized a house in Koblerville on April 7, 2014.

Kitaoka, a Japanese, was arrested for sexual assault in the first degree and in the second degree. He allegedly raped a Japanese woman inside her room at a hotel on Feb. 28.
