3 killed, 60 injured in Bangladeshi textile mill fire

At least three garment workers burnt to death and 60 others were injured as a devastating fire gutted an apparel factory in southeastern Bangladesh on Thursday evening, private news agency UNB reported Thursday.
Fire Brigade sources said the fire broke out in the three- storied KTS Textiles in southeastern port city Chittagong when a boiler exploded with a bang at about 7:30 p.m. (1330 GMT).
Identities of the victims were not immediately known, as frantic rescue operation continued amid the fire havoc.
“Over 100 workers were still trapped in different corners of the factory on fire,” said a spot account of the fire.
The death toll may rise in the fire, the firefighters said.
The extent of damage could not be known immediately.
