A Spate of Jewelry Trade Shows in Asia

The international jewelry trade show, which took place for four days in Shenzhen China, ended on March 2.
This is the sixth year running that this trade show has taken place, with the number of participants rising steadily. Over 350 exhibitors from 12 countries displayed their wares at the show, which is considered “the most international show in China during the first half of the year.†Although the show was deemed “international,†most of the participants and exhibitors were from China and Hong Kong.
Orly Yaffe, Managing Director of IDI Hong Kong, noted that the trade show was held, for the third year running, at the prestigious Shenzhen Fair Center, a fairground that holds its own in comparison to internationally renowned fair centers. Shenzhen is considered China’s largest jewelry manufacturing center for the local population and export market.
This is the second year that the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) has participated in the show. During the four days of the fair, representatives of the IDI gathered information from buyers who are interested in contacting Israeli suppliers. The English and Chinese language websites of the IDI Portal were presented to visitors and registration for new Chinese members was offered on the spot.
Four separate jewelry shows took place simultaneously in China during the past week: the Shenzhen jewelry show, the Macau trade show, the Bangkok trade show and another trade show at the Hong Kong Airport. The large Hong Kong Jewelry Show is opening today under the sponsorship of Hong Kong TDC (Hong Kong Trade and Development Council). Fifty Israeli diamond companies will display their merchandise at the Israeli Diamond Pavilion.  Â
