STILLWATER, Minn. – Thieves broke into the Mid-town Antique Mall and in two minutes took more than $100,000 worth of jewelry, police said.
The break-in occurred shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday and thieves took more than 300 pieces of jewelry, including rings, watches, bracelets and pendants, police said.
Authorities believe the thieves were familiar with the store because they focused on the most expensive items, passing up several other jewelry cases.
“I would imagine they cased the place,” said Sgt. Jeff Magler. “It looked like they knew what they were doing. It didn’t take them long to defeat the locking mechanisms. I’m sure they’ve done it before.”
