CESO expert assists local garment makers

A consultant from the Canadian Executive Service Organization is providing assistance to local garment manufacturers on sewing production teamwork concept for productivity improvement.
Alex Vega, expert adviser on garments from Ottawa, will work with the Garment Manufacturers Association of Negros Occidental until August 18 under a six-week module in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry Provincial Office and the Negros Occidental Provincial Government.
In the First Quick Response Work Team Module, the 10 participants were organized and demonstrated their sewing skills and experiences during their training at Provincial Technology and Livelihood Development Center in Bacolod City. It was observed that after the modular cluster production concept was implemented, the output of the high-speed sewers increased from 15 percent to 82 percent of their standard quota.
Also improved were the working attitude of the sewers that helped them make work together easier.
Those undergoing training are Emily Aba, Analina Arsaga, Nelida Bunstalidad, Delzen Canciller, Mary Ann Dequito, Farida Domingo, Lorena Estrabon, Angelita Francisco, Nelneson Semane and Rubelaine Palic.
