With all the grey fashions that are in style this season, you should always be on the look out for colorful jewelry, handbags and other accessories to keep your outfits looking fresh. Recently, I was introduced to Designs by Ilan – a terrific line of one-of-kind jewelry pieces that will jazz up your neutral fashions this season.
Ilan Yampolsky along with her husband Harris and her mother-in-law Lois formed Designs by Ilan in 2003. Yampolsky is a self taught artist who came to America from Israel in 1999. When she arrived, everything she brought with her was stolen and the job she lined up for herself didn’t work out.
After sleeping on a friend’s couch, she ended up finally getting a job where she met her husband Harris. With his encouragement, Ilan began making and selling crafts, which eventually escalated to gorgeous jewelry.
Now Harris helps Ilan design the jewelry using semi-precious stones, glass beads, crystals and fused glass, while Lois markets and manages the company. Together they have created a beautiful line of very unique pieces.
Designs by Ilan creates one-of-a-kind, custom jewelry pieces using a mixture of beads, glass and other elements, such as Swarovski crystals, sterling silver, gemstones, semi-precious stones and ceramics.
One of my favorite pieces is this sterling silver and handmade fused glass bracelet pictured here. I just love the chunky colorful squares and think it is a great looking piece that can worn all year round. Whether you wear it with evening wear or with a sweater and jeans, this bracelet would make an amazing complementary piece.
