Ethiopia: Ambassador Garment And Trade Opens Three-Star Hotel

The Bole Ambassador Hotel, a three-star resort built by Ambassador Garment and Trade Plc, opened its services to the public on Thursday.
Housed in a twin five-storey building, the hotel sports 52 suites equipped with “modern” facilities and services including internet access, Seid Mohammed, proprietor of the resort and the company, told The Reporter.
Located in front of London Cafe, near Bole International Airport, the hotel involved an investment outlay of over 26 million birr, according to Seid.
With an expansion project scheduled to commence next year, the hotel will be upgraded to a four-star resort. According to the proprietor, the company will build a third building having 44 rooms, which, when completed, will raise the total number of rooms and suites the hotel entertains to 96.
The expansion of the hotel is projected to require an investment of over 20 million birr.
The hotel is a sister company of Ambassador Garment and Ambassador Real Estate. The three business lines run under the umbrella of Ambassador Garment and Trade Plc.
In a related development, Ambassador Garment, which produces men’s suits for the local market, will in two months’ time start exporting its products to Germany, according to Seid.
“We have already made a deal with a German company, which will be importing out products to the market over there.”
According to Seid, Ambassador Garment will be exporting about half of its products to the German market. Currently, the garment company produces over 550 pieces of men’s suits, the figure marking a 30 percent increment against its production of last year.
Ambassador Real Estate, the third company runs under Ambassador Garment and Trade Plc, will on its part start building 82 villas beginning later month in a first phase project, according to Seid. One-and-a-half-year in operation now, the real estate company is currently building apartments which will be housed in a twin six-story building located at a site around Bole Medahinialem area. The buildings will entertain 18 apartments, each unit housed in lower and upper floors. The apartment buildings will have a common elevator at the center.
