Fresh agitation: 20 garment workers hurt in Savar

At least 20 garment workers of Harvard sweater factory were injured as fresh agitation broke out at Jamgora area of Savar Thursday.
Police and witnesses said, workers attacked the factory at about 9 am to press home their demands. Later, they tried to incite the co-workers of nearby Hewn Apparel.
Police charged batons to disperse the agitated workers and brought the situation under control.
The unrest erupted as police arrested two garment workers after the authority had filed a case with Ashulia police against a number of workers for breaking discipline.
Moreover, four days ago, while the workers wanted to know the rate of their production, the owners declined to divulge.
