Garment exports up 40 percent in first quarter

The Trade Ministry will register US$500 million in garment and textile export revenue in March, bringing the industry’s exports to almost US$1,367 million in the first quarter of 2014.
The quarterly amount represented an increase of 40 percent over the same period last year, reported the ministry.
The number of businesses that have their garment and textile exported to the EU rose by 100 as compared to last year while exports to Canada showed significant growth.
