Indonesia garment makers to invest US$ 122 million this year

A number of textile companies plan to build new garment factories with a total investment of Rp1.1 trillion (US$122 million) this year, the Indonesian Textile Association (API) said.
Growing demand have prompted the plan by six large companies – PT Sritex, PT Argo Pantes, PT Sari Warna Asli, PT Batik Keris Utama, PT Lucky Print Abadi and PT Apac Inti Corpora – and ten other smaller companies
Each of the six companies will invest Rp100 billion to produce 12,000 garments annually, API chairman Benny Soetrisno said.
In 2014, the country exported 380,000 tons of garment valued at US$5.97 billion or an increase of 13.2% from the previous year.
