LaSalle High School to open in 2014

JENA, La. LaSalle High School students attending class in a former garment factory could be out of that building by August 2014.
Parts of the high school damaged in a November 2004 tornado will be refurbished, and other parts will be reconstructed.

The school board unanimously voted last night to give Superintendent Roy Breithaupt the authority to advertise for bids once the district’s insurance company and the State Fire Marshal approve the new construction

The total project, including the main and outer buildings, is estimated to cost six-and-a-half (m) million dollars.

LaSalle Parish High School’s original building was heavily damaged by the tornado that ripped through the town of Olla in November 2004, killing one person.
