Established in 1998, Panawood Mulya Industry produces high quality wooden furniture, contemporary and tranditional, for export from a modern factory in Bandung on the island of Java, Indonesia.
Panawood was initially a supplier of knockdown furniture to IKEA in Sweden, Kay-el in the USA and several Japanese importers. In 2002 it began to supply high quality reproduction furniture to the UK and this has become its most important market. However, Panawood is also developing export markets in USA, Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia. Panawood exhibits regularly at furniture fairs such as Singapore, UK, Australia, USA, and Germany.

The site is 4.4ha with existing production areas, finishing plant, kiln drying facilities and warehousing occupying 12,500m2. Timber is dried in 3 temperature-controlled chambers made in Italy. There are also wood working machines made in Italy and Germany and other machinery from Japan, Taiwan and China. Production capacity is 1800 m3 a month and over 270 people are employed.

Most of the furniture produced is made of solid wood. Timber used are Merkusi Pine, Sungkai (Peronema spp.), Mahogany, Munchang and Bayur (Pterospermum spp).Hardwood timber such as Bangkirai (Shorea spp.), Kruing (Dipterocarpus spp.), Kempas (Koompassia spp.) and Red Meranti (Shorea spp.) are used for raw materials.
