RAJESH TO LAUNCH FIVE NEW DIAMOND JEWELRY BRANDS

India-based gold and diamond jewelry manufacturer, Rajesh Exports Limited (REL), is in the process of buying local jewelers in south India in attempts to launch its second retail brand, Shubh, over the next few months. The company has stated its intention to open 100 Shubh outlets by the end of fiscal year 2009, according to the Economic Times.
Rajesh Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director stated, “We would look at opening 20 Shubh stores in the next two months around Bangalore. By March ’08, we would like to sign deals for the next 80 stores. Of this, some would start operations early next year while the rest would take a few more months.”
Rajesh Exports has also stated that they will be launching five new brands later this month which will mark the company’s entry into manufacturing diamond jewelry. The company intends to both export and sell the diamond brands at its Laabh and upcoming Shubh retail chains.
