Traditional yet innovative jewelry designs exhibited

ISLAMABAD: A two-day jewelry exhibition by Estee concluded here on Wednesday at the Nomad Art Gallery.
Numerous people visited the exhibition and appreciated the designs display. “The response is greater than my expectations,†said Designer Estee. She has been designing jewelry for five years under the Aura Art brand and has an outlet in Karachi. She claims that her designs cater to all classes as the use of precious and semi precious stones in the jewelry displayed here made them quite affordable
Estee told Daily Times that she had started her career as a jewelry designer from Islamabad and she had many clients in the city.
She said, “I come to Islamabad twice a year for exhibiting new jewelry designs and the number of clients increases during every visit.â€
Exhibiting the fusion of traditional and contemporary designs in her pieces, she uses white gold and yellow gold with the embellishment of precious stones. Dealing with kundan and diamond, her designs have a wide range starting from delicate diamond accessories to kundan bridal sets. Her range in kundan varies from the Sindhi Dohri to Baloch Khanzai style. “I have revived traditional designs in my kundan range,†she said.
Estee’s designs depict traditional eastern jewelry along with a modern touch.“ Their look is eastern but they are made according to modern standards.â€
The use of fresh water cultured pearls and south sea pearls enhance the beauty of kundan designs. “They are very precious pearls and help maintain the traditional look of the designs,†she said. The range of stones used in her pieces is vast and includes emeralds, rubies, feroza and many others..
The designer had many exhibitions at home and abroad and says she always receives a tremendous response. She displayed her pieces in the United States through the All Pakistan North American Association (APNAA) and also has a permanent chain of clients there.
Nomad Art Gallery Director Nageen Hayat said Estee’s craft made her jewelry exclusive. “Her designs are traditional yet innovative,†she said.
