Vietnam hopes for $7 bln garment exports
Thanh Nien Daily, Vietnam
The Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas) has launched an ‘emulation movement’ for its members to raise productivity and boost exports to at least US$7 billion this year.
It also urged the industry to scout for more markets and adopt latest production technologies to ensure value-addition.
Vitas is a non-governmental, non-profit organization representing the interests of all textile and apparel firms in Vietnam, both foreign and domestic.
Last year the country’s textile and garment exports were worth $ 5.8 billion, up 20 percent year-on-year.
