If you want to drip in diamonds and pearls, but don’t want to spend a fortune, the Zagat Shopping Guide has ideas on where to find costume jewelry, and no one will know it’s faux.
Jennifer Miller Jewelry
972 Lexington Avenue
212-734-8199
JewelsbyJen.com
Zagat says whether you’re a fan of the faux or the fine you’ll find it all at this Upper East Side jewelry boutique. Customers rave you can find a “lovely selection” of contemporary and classic looks in precious stones, as well as replicas in man made diamonds.
Jennifer Miller Jewelry has not yet been rated, but surveyors say prices here are moderate.
Tous
109 Greene Street
212-219-1444
Tous.com
The guide says “Tous lovers” can “bear-ly contain themselves” from “scooping up” gold, enamel and freshwater pearl bracelets at this friendly SoHo jewelry “paradise” that hails from Spain. Customers add they love the “trade mark teddy” design and applaud the “interesting” pieces here for both adults and kids.
Out of a possible 30, Tous receives a 22 for quality, and a 21 for both display and service.
Surveyors say prices here are expensive.
If your looking to snack after you shop, the new Zagat 2009 New York City Restaurant Guide is now on sale in bookstores or at Zagat.com.
