The bankruptcy trustee for retailer Christian Bernard Stores Corp. received court approval to liquidate the jewelry chain’s assets. The trustee’s plan calls for re-opening the company’s 15 stores in the next few days for a liquidation sale.

The Secaucus, N.J.-based retailer, which has stores in Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach and MacArthur Center in Norfolk, filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Newark, N.J., on Dec. 26 to liquidate.

The trustee, Charles Forman, said that customers who have not been contacted about the status of their property at Christian Bernard stores can reach him by e-mail at cforman@formanlaw.com or by calling 201-845-1000
