OMAHA, Neb. – A local jewelry store will use pizza, beer and discounts to try and lure men inside to see Valentine’s Day deals.
Borsheims in Regency knows the demographic doesn’t expect bargains in such a place, but the company will push a quick, easy and fun way to grab gifts for less than $100, a spokeswoman said.
For example, a heart-shaped sterling silver necklace is $25. Or, strands of colored, cultured pearls cost $50 each.
Marketing Director Adrianne Fay said the company wants to give everybody the chance to experience opening that silver box with a burgundy ribbon, which she said “always brings great anticipation.”
If jewelry isn’t desired, a couple can get away from home and stay at the Comfort Inn and Suites, which, for $89, has offered a room, chocolate, champagne, flowers and a free breakfast.
Also, Lamar Advertising will let you say ‘I love you’ in a big way. The outdoor advertising company, for $50, will scroll a Valentine’s message on its digital billboards for two days.
Finally, the Durham Museum has an exhibition devoted to
nothing but chocolate.
The exhibition is up now and admission is $7.
