VIETNAM: Garment training centre opened

Vietnam has opened its first international garment training centre in southern Ho Chi Minh City.
The centre is aimed at helping improve management, marketing sales, personnel training and social responsibility within the garment sector.
It was established by 13 garment manufacturers and one equipment company, with help from the Mekong Private Sector Development Facility, the multilateral Sponsor Programme run by the International Financial Company and the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Garment, Textile, Embroidery and Knitting.
Garment manufacturing is Vietmam’s second-largest hard currency earner, according to a report by Enditem, bringing in export turnover of US$4.84bn in 2005.
