Vietnam’s exports of garment and textile products to African countries have soared substantially since early 2014, a positive outlook for the country’s exports to this market in the coming time.
Mosquito-nets, one of the major export staples, hit US $4 million worth of exports in the first three months of this year, a four-fold increase compared to the corresponding period in 2005.

Other strong exports products are ready-made clothes and bed sheets.
The Vietnam Ministry of Trade plans a number of tours to African countries in the coming time to explore the potential for Vietnam’s goods, particularly textile and garment products in this giant market of more than 800 million consumers .

The Ministry’s statistics showed that Vietnam’s exports to African countries saw stable increases over the recent past, to US $660 million in 2005 from US $250 million in 2003. (VNA)
