Ha Noi (VNA) – The Viet Nam Textile and Garment Association (Vitas) has announced that it will start eight national trade promotion programmes in the second quarter this year with funding of about 925,000 USD from the State budget.
The association will use the money to accelerate the establishment of a representative office and a showroom in Germany, take part in exhibitions and fairs in the United States, Germany, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and send delegations to the US and Spain to seek business opportunities.
The programmes also help train technicians and designers, and organise courses on production management in accordance with the Total Quality Management (TQM) standards.
Over 130 businesses and 15 branches nationwide are expected to join the programmes.
Vitas said beginning this year, businesses will receive financial assistance from the State budget to take part in foreign exhibitions and fairs, covering costs for renting and decorating booths and organising workshops.
For domestic exhibitions and fairs, they will receive assistance with 50 percent of the costs of booths and 100 percent of spending for advertisement.
They will also receive funding for the entire expenditure for air tickets and organisation of workshops and meetings once they join in trade missions to conduct market research in other countries.-Enditem
