The Marianas Variety Online reports that American Pacific Textile and Hansae garment factories have ceased operations.

A group of workers carrying their personal belongings were seen leaving the American Pacific Textile factory compound in Tanapag shortly before 4 p.m. yesterday. The workers are moving to an undisclosed site for another job.

The CNMI Department of Labor has yet to receive any formal notice from American Pacific Textile about the status of its operations.

American Pacific Textile in Tanapag and Hansae Saipan Inc. in Gualo Rai are owned by the same group of investors. Months ago, workers from Hansae moved to the American Pacific Textile factory in Tanapag.
