FORT EDWARD, N.Y. Police say the jewelry on human remains found in a field Saturday have been identified by a local man as his mother’s.

Police say they think the partially clothed remains found by a farmer are those of 69-year-old Eleanore Kelly of Glens Falls, who disappeared last summer. Kelly suffered from mild Alzheimer’s Disease.
Investigators say they would use dental records Tuesday to try to confirm it.
Kelly’s son, Michael Kelly, said he recognized the glasses, wristwatch and necklace found on the body.
He stopped short of saying he thought his mother had been killed, but he asked how she made it to a remote field about 500 yards from a bike path.
Investigators say they found no sign of foul play but added the pathologist could not determine the cause of death because of advanced decomposition.
Kelly was known to walk for hours at a time, and Glens Falls Police Chief Joseph Bethel says the area around the bike path had been searched after she disappeared. But he said it was not clear if the search extended to the nearby fields.
Fort Edward is about 40 miles northeast of Albany.
