Cash, jewelry taken in Deltona home invasion
Orlando Sentinel, FL

Cash and jewelry valued at more than $3,000 was taken during an early-morning home-invasion robbery in Deltona.

A couple living in the 2300 block of Chastain Avenue answered a knock at the door about 2:45 a.m. and were confronted by two masked men – one armed with a shotgun and the other with a handgun, Volusia County Sheriff’s spokesman Brandon Haught said.

Thinking the guns were fake, one of the victims briefly fought with the robbers before both victims were forced to the floor.

Because they were afraid the robbers were still around, the victims waited several minutes before reporting the crime.

The robbers wore hooded black sweatshirts, black paints and Halloween masks.
