JAKARTA, Jan 3 Asia Pulse – Indonesia’s Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Ministry targets to post a 19.2 per cent increase in the export of SMEs products to Rp130.4 trillion (US$13.05 billion) in 2014 from an estimated Rp109.4 trillion in 2005.

Despite the increase, the contribution of SMEs to the country’s total export value is predicted to decline to 13.8 per cent from 14.4 per cent in 2005, Hasan Jauhari, deputy cooperatives and SMEs, said on Monday.

SMEs export commodities include textiles, handicraft and farm products.

Indonesian competitors in international market of SMEs products are China and Vietnam, which are more competitive in price.
