Indonesia has a variety of handicrafts that has characteristic of each region. One of the existing crafts is a craft made of fiber. Fiber is a material whose ratio of length and width is very large and the constituent molecules are oriented, especially in the long direction. Humans use fiber in many ways, such as to make rope, cloth, yarn or paper. Based on the source, fibers can be classified into two types: natural fibers and synthetic fibers. Craft objects must prioritize practical value, that is, they can be used according to their functions and needs. For examples, bowls as a place for vegetables, glasses as drinking utensils, plates as serving utensils and so on.

Comfort
Craft objects should be pleasing and comfortable for the user. Examples of cups and pans are designed to have handles so that users don’t feel the heat directly.

Flexibility
Craft objects must have a match between the shape and form of the object with its use value. For the example, shoes made in according to the anatomy and size of the foot.

Security (Safety)
Craft objects should not harm the user. For example, plates made of coconut fiber must consider the composition of the coating or coloring agent used so that they are not dangerous if used as a food container.

Beauty (Aesthetic)
Beautiful things have more appeal than ordinary things. The beauty of an object can be seen from several things, including the shape, decoration or ornament, and the raw material.
